Three items can be fake: Hemingway Cigarettes, Food Stamps and Immunivax Injectors. When a customer sells you one, the Inspection Tray shows its tells and a confront panel to call out a fake.

The Magnifying Glass opens the Inspection Tray on a seller's item. The confront panel opens for an item that is not yours yet and not confronted before, while the trade is not locked.
A confront with the right issue ticked: the seller lowers the price to the real value, with the Good Inspection Discount of -15%. Wrong: -2 reputation with their faction.
Cigarettes and stamps only: confirm 'Genuine'. Right: the price rises to the genuine value, +2 reputation, and the -15% discount. Wrong: nothing happens.
Only the highest-numbered ticked box is checked. Ticking every box is the same as ticking the last one.
An injector sold as anything but genuine has no confront panel.
A wrong confront on a seller with no faction costs Lower Levels reputation. A confronted item cannot be confronted again.
A genuine pack always has an intact security seal. Lettering errors, wrong colors, wrong fonts or a missing logo mark a fake.

Arrives on day 11. Lays the official logo over the stamp's.
Stamps of 160 Credits and up carry a security seal; lower stamps never do. Every stamp has a chip; a missing or damaged chip makes it unusable.

Value Issues means a printed value 10 above a real one: 50, 90, 130, 170 or 210 Credits. One random stamp in four is a fake sold as genuine.
Redeeming a genuine stamp at the Commissary adds its printed value in Commissary Tokens. Redeeming a fake exposes it instead.
A genuine injector reads Carmicheal Pharmaceutical and Immunivax, with a seven-digit serial from 1250000 to 4559999. The first three digits are the batch. Batches 250, 251, 301, 355, 385 and 386 are recalled.

A customer who checks this item exposes a fake: the price drops to its real value and you lose 4 reputation with their faction. No customer checks food stamps.
The Ribwich, the Plasma Cartridge and the Cybernetic Hand have fakes and flaws too, but no confront panel: they are appraisal items. Water carries a purity label that can be wrong.
