Appraisal Service
Appraisal customers bring 2 to 4 items of one kind for an estimate. You inspect each with the Magnifying Glass and send an estimate; every accepted estimate pays a fee. The items are not bought or sold.

Your first certificate. Put it in the display case to bring appraisal customers.

- Thin Margins (Hard Mode)

The Join choice appears only while you have the fee in cash. Asking them to come back later brings them back 7 days later with the same choice. Declining sends them away for good.
On day 9, if you joined on day 8, a Scavenger brings 2 Cybernetic Hands.
Appraisal customers come only while an Appraisal Board certificate is in the display case. The daily chance rises with every day one does not come and drops back when one comes.
Each customer brings one item type your rank has unlocked: 2, 3 or 4 of it. Activating a certificate you own opens the Appraisal Items window, where older types can be switched off. The newest unlocked type is always allowed.
If you joined and own no certificate, a new one of your rank is in the store inventory when the shutter opens in the morning.
The estimate is typed into the Inspection Tray. It starts at the customer's own figure: 100 for a Cybernetic Hand, 150 for a Ribwich, 300 for a Plasma Cartridge.

Fee by rank
| Rank | Base fee | Perfect | Excellent | Good | Mediocre | Awful |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Junior Appraiser | 20 Credits | 15% | 12% | 10% | 8% | 5% |
| Appraiser | 40 Credits | 18% | 15% | 12% | 10% | Refused |
| Senior Appraiser | 60 Credits | 21% | 18% | 15% | Refused | Refused |
| Master Appraiser | 100 Credits | 25% | 21% | Refused | Refused | Refused |
The fee is the grade's percent of the estimate you sent, plus the rank's base fee. A Junior Appraiser who sends 320 for a Carbon Composite, Neural Interface, Armored Cybernetic Hand (worth 320) earns 15% of 320 = 48, plus 20 = 68 Credits.
An estimate in a grade your rank refuses is turned down as too high or too low. After the third refusal the customer says "You clearly don't know what you are doing. I'm out." and leaves.
Each accepted estimate prints an Appraisal Slip with the grade, the estimate sent, the true value and the fee. The customer leaves when no items are left.
Base fee 20 Credits. Customer chance 33% a day. Unlocks the Cybernetic Hand.
Base fee 40 Credits. Customer chance 42% a day. Unlocks the Ribwich.
Base fee 60 Credits. Customer chance 48% a day. Unlocks the Plasma Cartridge.
Base fee 100 Credits. Customer chance 55% a day. The highest rank.
