非洲豹 (学名：Panthera pardus pardus) 为豹的指名亚种，原生于非洲中部与南部。 该物种身形修长，头部形态优雅。毛皮底色从黄色至深金色不等，体表密布小而密集的玫瑰状斑纹，这些斑纹在下半身、面部及尾尖处逐渐变为黑色斑点。腹部及四肢内侧毛色为白色。 非洲豹存在两性异形表现，雄性体型与体重均大于雌性。雄性肩高 60 至 70 厘米，头体长 1.52 至 1.83 米，尾长约 66 厘米，体重 58 至 96 千克。雌性肩高 55 至 65 厘米，躯干长 1.39 至 1.67 米，尾长约 60 厘米，体重 24 至 37.5 千克。

非洲豹除了母亲养育幼崽之外，平时都是独自生活。 非洲豹全年均可交配。发情周期大约持续 46 天，雌豹在每个周期中有一周的受孕期。雄豹会通过叫声和尿液标记来追踪雌豹。一对非洲豹会待在一起几天，期间进行数次交配，接着便再次分开。 非洲豹的妊娠期会持续 3 至 3.5 个月，之后雌豹会在巢穴或狭缝处产下 2 到 4 只幼崽，不过在野外只有 40% 到 50% 的幼崽能活过第一年。它们刚出生时眼睛看不到且无法自理，出生后的前几周都会待在巢穴中。待到 9 周大时，它们会开始摄入固体食物，并在 3 个月大时开始跟随母亲外出狩猎。幼崽最多和母亲一起生活 2 年，不过它们从 1 岁开始就能独立生活了。 与母亲分开后，年轻的非洲豹可能会和兄弟姐妹一起行动一段时间，最终分道扬镳，转变为完全独居的生活型态。非洲豹会在 2 岁半左右时达到性成熟。
