Overview
The Glowtail is a small, carnivorous shoulder pet. It can be passively tamed and carried in a survivor's inventory, providing utility while on the move. Its primary role is gathering a wide variety of plant-based resources efficiently while mounted. It can be airlifted by Argentavis or Desmodus for fast deployment to remote areas.
Glowtails are ideal for survivors needing a mobile harvesting companion without the bulk of a full-sized mount.

More about taming the Glowtail
Glowtails are tamed passively by feeding them while nearby. The best food is Plant Species Z Seed, which provides the fastest taming. Ascerbic Mushroom also works, though significantly slower. The process takes about 1 minute with Plant Species Z Seed and requires no narcotics. Use the calculator below for your settings.

While mounted, the Glowtail gathers using its Melee and Tongue attacks. Both attacks harvest Berries, Seeds, Mushrooms, Rare Flowers, Rare Mushrooms, Stimberries, Mejoberry, Narcoberry, Plant Species X Seed, Plant Species Y Seed, Wood, Cactus Sap, and Fiber. Each of these resources receives a 10× harvest multiplier, making the Glowtail exceptionally efficient at collecting plant-based materials.

Glowtails take +120% more damage from Instant HurtDinos sources, making them highly vulnerable to certain environmental hazards. They are completely immune to Radiation and Mining Drill Harvest damage, taking -100% from both. They also take +55% more damage from Melee DmgMetal RaidDino attacks and +50% more from Explosions. Melee and Ranged Turret damage is reduced by -50%.
The Glowtail has a head hitbox that applies a 3× damage multiplier when targeted. Aim for the head during combat or taming attempts to maximize effectiveness.
