Desmodus is a flying carnivore known for its passive taming method. It excels at carrying small creatures into the air, making it a unique utility flyer. It can airlift smaller mounts such as Achatina, Araneo, Archaeopteryx, and Armadoggo for transport or tactical positioning.
This flyer is primarily used for aerial cargo delivery and niche combat support due to its life steal mechanic and lightweight carry capacity.

A Desmodus tames on blood, not food. Let it grab something carrying Blood Packs and leave it to drain without interruption. That can be you or a teammate, but a high-health creature loaded with packs is easier and safer, because it drinks the packs instead of the health. It needs the same stretch of uninterrupted draining at every level, and it opens well short of full effectiveness however cleanly you play, so a perfect attempt still lands around 57 per cent.
Taming a Desmodus requires a passive approach. Equip Blood Pack in your hotbar and allow the creature to grab you. It will consume 10 Blood Packs per interaction until tamed. The process takes about 582 Blood Packs and roughly 145 minutes at level 150 on official settings with 100% effectiveness. No narcotics are needed. Use the calculator below for your settings.
