Potion Making

Potion Making turns fish, fangs, roots and mushrooms into potions that heal you, shield you or raise a skill level for a while. Every potion is made in two steps: you brew a potion type in a cauldron, then you bottle it into vials. The vial you use decides the potion's size and strength.

How potion making works

1. Cut fish at a cutting table. Every fish gives essence glands, and most also give fish flesh or fish scales. 2. Prepare the ingredients. The crushing station and the reduction station turn raw materials into potion ingredients, and the reduction station turns essence glands into Essence. 3. Brew at an empty cauldron. Each potion needs one main ingredient plus some Essence (the Potions table shows how much). Brewing fills the cauldron with that potion. You can only brew into an empty cauldron. 4. Bottle the potion. With empty vials in your inventory, bottle from the filled cauldron. Each vial takes its volume from the cauldron, and bigger vials take more (the Vial sizes table shows each one). Once the cauldron is empty you can brew again.

Cauldrons

There are two cauldrons. They brew the same potions, but the Valen City cauldron is bigger and costs more to fill.

Each potion type has one cauldron recipe. Amounts are shown as Valen Gate / Valen City cauldron. The effect shown is for a Large potion.

XP is the base amount for one brew at the Valen Gate cauldron, before any game-wide XP bonus. The Cauldrons table shows how the other cauldron changes it.

Vial sizes

Bottling needs one empty vial and the Potion Making level shown. A bigger vial uses more of the cauldron but makes a stronger potion.

Strength by vial size

Health potions heal more in a bigger vial. Skill, Attack and Shields potions keep the same bonus but last longer.

Tips

One brew fills the cauldron. The Cauldrons table shows how much each one holds.

The bigger cauldron uses more ingredients per brew and gives more XP. The Cauldrons table shows the exact amounts.

You can buy some ingredients instead of making them. The Valen Gate Potion Stall and the Valen City Potion Store sell some of them. Their shop pages show what's in stock and the prices.

Gilded Vials, Strong Shields and Strong Attack need members-only items.
