Holiday Events

Holiday Events

Winds of Valen has had two holiday events so far. Each one gave out a cosmetic hat that can no longer be obtained, so these items are now some of the rarest in the game and trade for a lot of coins.

Where this information comes from

The developers never published the drop rates or how many event items were given out. Details on how each event worked come from players who were there. Community estimates are rough numbers players have pieced together and are not confirmed. Lines marked "In the game files" come straight from the game data.

Past events

Newest first. The Event items table below links to each item's page.

Bunny Ears

Easter event (Bunny Ears)

When

Easter. It was the most recent event and lasted about 2 weeks. Exact dates not confirmed.

How it worked (player reports)

Every creature had a small chance to drop Bunny Ears. Stronger creatures and bosses had a better chance, so most players farmed Warden. Even a chicken could drop them, at a far lower chance.

Community estimates (unverified)

The real drop rates were never announced. Players think about 1,000 Bunny Ears exist. A player at Warden for the whole event got around 50 to 60.

In the game files

Bunny Ears is a head cosmetic with a gold value of 100. No shop, loot table, chest or recipe in the current game files gives it.

Status

Ended. No longer obtainable.

Santa Hat

Christmas event (Santa Hat)

When

Christmas. Players remember the drop parties lasting from about a day to about 2 weeks. Exact dates not confirmed.

How it worked (player reports)

An event stall sold Santa Hats for 100,000 coins each, and the developers held drop parties where they gave many hats away.

Community estimates (unverified)

Players think 4,000 to 5,000 Santa Hats exist, more than Bunny Ears. A few players own hundreds.

In the game files

Santa Hat is a head cosmetic with a gold value of 100. Its in-game description is "Why is this so expensive". No shop, loot table, chest or recipe in the current game files gives it.

Status

Ended. No longer obtainable.

Event items

Gold value is the item's value in the game files. Players trade these items for far more than that.

Why event items are so rare

1. Each event only ran once, for a short time, and the items have not come back since. 2. When a player who owns event items quits, those items leave the market for good, so the number in circulation slowly goes down. 3. Many players treat owning a Santa Hat or Bunny Ears as an end-game goal, which keeps demand high.

Future events

Players expect a Halloween event, but it has not been announced. If it works like the Easter event, a rare item may drop from every creature for a short time. There is no Halloween item in the game files yet. This page will be updated when an event is announced.

Not confirmed yet

The exact dates of both events, the Bunny Ears drop chances, and how many of each item exist are not confirmed. The current game files have no event shop or event loot table, so the event stall and the Bunny Ears drops were most likely switched on only while each event ran. If you were there and can add anything, let us know and we'll add it here.
