Below is a breakdown of knockout weapon requirements for the Dakosaurus across various creature levels. Space your shots to let torpor accumulate - rapid firing risks killing it before knockout.
The table shows how many sedatives you'll need to keep the Dakosaurus unconscious through the full taming duration. Bio Toxin is twice as potent as Narcotics (80 vs 40 Torpor per use), while Narcoberries work in a pinch at just 7.5 Torpor each. At 12.8 Torpor drain per second, apply narcotics proactively - a wakeup mid-tame wastes everything.
Track the taming process with the timers below - they monitor both Torpor and starvation progress. The torpor timer alerts you when narcotics are needed. The starve timer tracks Food depletion for starve-taming, where you let the food bar drop before placing all food at once.

The Dakosaurus is a knockout tame: apply enough torpor to knock it out, then place food in its inventory. Feed it Exceptional Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.
After taming, the Dakosaurus is well-suited for deep-sea exploration, cave diving, and ocean resource runs. It gives live birth after a gestation period, making breeding straightforward. Killing a wild Dakosaurus yields 15 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.88 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
