Breeding produces live offspring - no egg management needed. Gestation takes approximately 8 hours at default rates.
Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~7 days and 17 hours (1x rate), progressing over many real-world days, demanding serious time investment. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.
Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
Raising a baby Dakosaurus involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~1111 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~74h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~93h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Don't skip imprinting - each successful imprint boosts the Dakosaurus's stats, and hitting 100% grants a 30% combat bonus when the imprinter rides it. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.
Use the raising calculator to plan food requirements for raising Dakosaurus babies through all three growth stages. Budget ~1111 minutes for the Baby phase - this is when hand-feeding or Maewing nursing is mandatory.
Adjust the dino count to calculate food for multiple Dakosaurus babies at once - essential for batch breeding operations. Consider food spoilage when choosing what to feed: Kibble lasts days, while Raw Meat spoils in minutes.
The Dakosaurus is a tamable, aquatic, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended.
Melee starts at 100% - solid damage output that scales with level-ups. Starting at 3,200 Health, it's one of the toughest creatures in the game. With 500 base Stamina, the Dakosaurus has respectable staying power. A base Weight of 1600 means massive inventory space.
The Dakosaurus is a knockout tame: apply enough torpor to knock it out, then place food in its inventory. Feed it Exceptional Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.
After taming, the Dakosaurus is well-suited for deep-sea exploration, cave diving, and ocean resource runs. It gives live birth after a gestation period, making breeding straightforward. Killing a wild Dakosaurus yields 15 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.88 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
