Dwarven Furnace
Also called the Advanced Furnace. This ancient dwarven smelter runs on heat. At a normal furnace, coal is an ingredient in Steel and Mithril bars. Here you burn fuel to heat the furnace instead, and each bar only needs its ore once the furnace is hot enough. It is also the only place to smelt Ebony Bars. The furnace and Ebony Ore are Members only.
Where to find it
In the old dwarven mine in the cavern, next to the Copperfield brothers (Galen, Garrett and Gideon). This is a Members only area. It has two parts: a fuel intake, where you add fuel, and an ore intake, where you smelt.

How heat works
Burning fuel heats the furnace at a steady rate, but the hotter the furnace gets, the faster it cools down. At Ebony heat (2500) it loses heat about three times faster than at Steel heat (1400), so holding it hot enough for Ebony burns through much more fuel.
| Temperature | Cooling speed | Needed for | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | 0.1x | ||
| 1400 | 1.6x | Steel Bar | |
| 1800 | 2.5x | Mithril Bar | |
| 2500 | 5.3x | Ebony Bar |
Cooling speed compares how fast the furnace loses heat at each temperature. The base rate in seconds isn't known.
Fuel
Essence Infused Coal lasts longer than regular coal, so you need fewer of them to heat the furnace. Make it at a Reduction station from 1 Coal Ore (or Coal Dust) and 2 Essence. It needs Potion Making 45.
| Fuel | Fuel value | |
|---|---|---|
| Coal Dust | Standard (exact value not in game files) | |
| Coal Ore | Standard (exact value not in game files) | |
| Essence Infused Coal | 2 |
Not confirmed yet
We know the furnace's heating power (10 per unit of fuel) and how much faster it cools as it heats up. The base cooling rate, the starting temperature and how long one coal burns aren't known yet. One player reports it took about 150 Essence Infused Coal to bring the furnace from cold to Ebony heat. If you time it in game, let us know and we'll add it here.
