Below is a breakdown of knockout weapon requirements for the Megalodon across various creature levels. Always pace your shots. Torpor takes time to apply, and over-shooting can be lethal.
Use the narcotic calculator to determine exactly how many Narcotics, Bio Toxin, or Narcoberries you need for the Megalodon. Narcotics provide 40 Torpor each and are the standard choice. Bio Toxin offers 80 Torpor but is harder to farm. Narcoberries at 7.5 each are a last resort. At 0.3 Torpor drain per second, apply narcotics proactively - a wakeup mid-tame wastes everything.
Track the taming process with the timers below - they monitor both Torpor and starvation progress. The torpor timer alerts you when narcotics are needed. The starve timer tracks Food depletion for starve-taming, where you let the food bar drop before placing all food at once.

Stamina sits at 320 base, providing decent staying power. Melee starts at 100% - decent hitting power that scales with level-ups. Health-wise, the Megalodon sits at 600 base, making it solidly tanky. It carries 250 base Weight - a solid weight pool.
The Megalodon is a knockout tame: apply enough torpor to knock it out, then place food in its inventory. Superior Kibble is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.
After taming, the Megalodon is well-suited for deep-sea exploration, cave diving, and ocean resource runs. It gives live birth after a gestation period, making breeding straightforward. Defeating one in the wild grants 12 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.37 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
