Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~21 hours and 2 minutes (1x rate), progressing at a medium pace. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.

This is a passive tame: no tranquilizers needed. Get close without startling it, then offer food from your last hotbar slot. Its preferred food is Raw Supreme Fish Meat.
As a tame, the X-Otter can serve multiple roles depending on how you level its stats after taming. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. Killing a wild X-Otter yields 4 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.84 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
