Breeding the X-Argentavis produces fertilized eggs that require careful temperature control. Incubation temperature must stay between 12°C and 13.5°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 2 hours and 56 minutes.
After hatching or birth, the baby X-Argentavis matures over a lengthy period, reaching adulthood in about 2 days and 6 hours at 1x maturation. The most labor-intensive part is the baby phase (0–10% maturation) when it can't use a Feeding Trough yet.
Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
The X-Argentavis's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~327 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~22h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~27h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted X-Argentavis gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.

Found throughout the ARKs, the X-Argentavis is a tamable, flying, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It falls within the Variant classification.
Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the X-Argentavis brings decent hitting power to the table. With 365 base Health, the X-Argentavis is decently sturdy. With 400 base Stamina, the X-Argentavis has solid stamina reserves. Weight capacity starts at 400, giving it generous inventory space.
Taming the X-Argentavis requires rendering it unconscious first - use Tranq Arrows, Darts, or Shocking Tranq Darts to apply torpor. For best results, use Superior Kibble - it gives the highest taming efficiency.
Once tamed, the X-Argentavis works well as a reconnaissance mount, offering fast travel and a bird's-eye view of the terrain. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 12°C and 13.5°C. A wild X-Argentavis is worth 7 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.68 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
