Found throughout the ARKs, the Hyaenodon is a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended.
Its base Stamina of 260 gives it average stamina. Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the Hyaenodon brings decent hitting power to the table. The Hyaenodon has 175 base Health - on the squishy side. It carries 170 base Weight - modest carrying capacity.
Taming the Hyaenodon doesn't require unconsciousness. Instead, sneak up to it and hand-feed its preferred food. Its preferred food is Kibble (Carno Egg).
After taming, the Hyaenodon is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. Defeating one in the wild grants 18 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.04 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
