Wiki CSS and Sidebar CSS
Updated 2026-09-29
Per-element rules are perfect for one-offs. The moment you want the same look on many elements, a central stylesheet is the answer: define it once, apply it by name everywhere.
Two stylesheets, two jobs
Both take normal CSS with selectors and braces, like .gold-frame { border: 2px solid gold; }. This is the one place you write full rules rather than bare pairs.
Shared classes: define once, reuse anywhere
The bridge is the CSS class field at the bottom of every Custom CSS panel. Name an element, define that class centrally, and every element carrying the name updates together.
- Open an element Custom CSS section and click the CSS class field.
- The dropdown lists every class that actually exists in the matching stylesheet.
- Click a class to apply it, click again to remove it. Several can stack.
- No class yet? Edit wiki CSS opens the Theme page. Save any page edits first.
The suggestions are never guesses. Page blocks list Wiki CSS classes; sidebar elements list Sidebar CSS classes. An empty dropdown means the stylesheet has no classes yet.
The code editor
Both stylesheets are in one editor on Theme › Custom CSS, with a wiki.css tab and a sidebar.css tab, line numbers and syntax colours. The preview stays visible while you scroll and edit the settings. Use Article or Overview to check different content, and Desktop or Phone to check both screen layouts.
Click Save theme to publish both sheets with your colour, font and background changes and your sidebar entries.
