No knockoutHow this tame works
- It only surfaces for a player swimming with tamed Ichthyosaurus alongside, and counts up to 3 of them. Nothing else in the water qualifies. Every extra one buys you 30 more seconds.
- Leeches latch on in batches of 3. Knock them all off and you get 30 seconds to feed.
- Let the timer run out and it dives again, costing 5% effectiveness.

More about taming the Shastasaurus
Found throughout the ARKs, the Shastasaurus is a tamable, aquatic, piscivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. Classified under the Water group.
With 4,500 base Health, the Shastasaurus is one of the toughest creatures in the game. With 100% base Melee Damage, the Shastasaurus has solid damage output. Its base Stamina of 300 gives it decent staying power. Weight capacity starts at 3000, giving it massive inventory space.
After taming, the Shastasaurus is well-suited for deep-sea exploration, cave diving, and ocean resource runs. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. Defeating one in the wild grants 15 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.88 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
