CreatureShoulder Pet

The Parrot is a small omnivore tamed as a shoulder pet. It provides a weight reduction on inventory resources while perched. This makes it useful for survivors managing heavy loads during exploration or transport. It can be airlifted by Quetzal or Karkinos for fast deployment.

A Parrot never eats from your hand. Use an emote such as Wave near a wild one and it lands on your shoulder. From there you earn its trust by doing things worth doing: killing Alpha creatures is the fastest, digging up buried treasure from a message in a bottle works, and finishing missions or collecting the crates they leave counts too. Keep doing things: idling costs you.
The Parrot is tamed passively. Feed it Basic Kibble for the fastest taming. Raw Mutton also works but is less efficient. About 8 units of Basic Kibble are needed. The process takes around 1 minute at level 224 with 99% effectiveness. Use the calculator below for your settings.

The Parrot has a +120% weakness to Instant HurtDinos, making it extremely vulnerable to instant-damage effects. It has a -100% resistance to MiningDrill Harvest, meaning it takes no damage from mining drills. It is also weak to Melee DmgMetal RaidDino (+55%) and explosions (+50%). Avoid combat exposure.
The Parrot has a head hitbox that takes 3× damage. Target the head for faster knockouts or kills.
The Parrot reduces inventory weight for Hide and Raw Meat by 50%. It can be carried by flyers like Quetzal for mobile support. Its +120% weakness to instant-damage effects makes it fragile in combat zones. Use it off the battlefield for resource efficiency.
