Featherlight

Overview

The Featherlight is a small flying shoulder pet that passively tames and reduces inventory weight for certain resources. It excels as a portable storage companion due to its passive taming and weight reduction traits. Players tame it to carry heavy resources more efficiently while exploring or farming.

It can be immobilized with a Bola or Bear Trap to begin passive taming.

More about taming the Featherlight

Featherlight uses passive taming, requiring no knockout. Feed it Plant Species Z Seed directly from your inventory to gain affinity. Auric Mushroom also works but provides significantly less affinity per use.

Taming takes about 1 minute with Plant Species Z Seed and requires no narcotics. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Combat notes

Featherlight has a +120% weakness to Instant HurtDinos, making it extremely vulnerable to dino-based attacks. It is fully resistant to Radiation and Mining Drill Harvest, taking no damage from these sources. Melee attacks with a metal weapon exploit its +55% weakness, dealing significantly more damage.

The Head has a damage multiplier of 3x, making it the optimal target for efficient knockout or elimination. Focus attacks on the head to maximize damage output.

Can break Thatch. Build at least in Wood.

Experience

  • Passive taming allows safe feeding without aggression. Use a Bola or trap it in a Bear Trap to prevent escape during taming.
  • Its -85% weight reduction on Plant Species Z Seed makes it ideal for kibble farming.
  • Fully immune to radiation damage, making it safe to use in high-radiation zones.
  • Vulnerable to explosion and metal melee attacks, so avoid combat zones.

This page details the Featherlight's stats, taming, breeding, harvest data, and combat traits. For precise planning, use the taming calculator, breeding calculator, and spawn map tools available on this site.
