This statue depicts the last king of South Aust during the Age of the Great River.
According to legend, the gods granted him the power to create gold.
Known as the Gyldenlord, he was praised by all as a sovereign who could conjure wealth from thin air. He would soon become the richest man his world had ever known.
His name has long been forgotten, and no records remain. To the world, he was simply gold incarnate.
But such power stirred the greed of his enemies. After a series of invasions, South Aust eventually fell.
The Gyldenlord withdrew deep into his palace. It is said that he turned its interior into pure gold, sealing himself within, never to emerge again.
