A signal flare has been sighted near the Fell Keep. Ask the nearby villagers what happened, or search the area for any sign of the merchant's whereabouts.

Taking the quest

GaimecAre you from the Bluesalt Brotherhood? Please say you are! P-Please! Help me find my friend! I'm begging you!
YouAlright, can you calm down and explain what happened?
GaimecO-Okay! I'm Gaimec, and I'm a merchant with the Bluesalt Brotherhood. My friend was traveling near the stronghold, and just as I feared, a signal flare was fired! I rushed here, but the guards blocked the road, saying it's too dangerous... And I can't find my friend anywhere!
YouCan you tell me more about your friend?
GaimecHer name's Winter. She's also a merchant from the same company as me. What I'm worried about is how hot-tempered and stubborn she is. What if she tried to fight the Dark Blades from taking her trade goods?
YouFiring a signal flare could mean that she managed to escape.
GaimecR-Right! That must be it! But... What if the Dark Blades took her? (groan)

During the quest

Finishing the quest

WinterAre you with the Bluesalt Brotherhood? Great! Could I have your help with something?
YouWere you held hostage by the Dark Blades?
WinterMe? Kidnapped? I'm here to find the bag they stole. It has the trade reports I wrote for Livek. Those Dark Blades... I'd rather risk my own skin than let them have it. I'll go find it myself!
YouCalm down. Do you know how to fight?
WinterNot at all. As a merchant, I can't just sit around and wait. I could just sneak inside and steal it before—
YouThat's too dangerous. I'll go get it for you.
WinterYou sure? If that's the case... I'll repay this debt. I saw them take the bag into the tent up ahead. The leader was barking out orders to his men nearby. You must find it. That bag is everything to me.
YouAlright.
WinterRight. I'll be waiting here. Please be careful!
